Melbourne Ice has defeated the Newcastle North Stars 7-2 in the teams' first rematch since Newcastle put the Ice out the 2007 AIHL Finals.

2008 Jersey Presentation
The 2008 Jersey Presentation was held on Tuesday 22 April, at the Elgin Inn in Hawthorn. As well as announcing the 2008 playing squad, the club also announced the members of the 2008 development squad. The retirement from playing of Captain, #9 Brad Vigon, was also announced.
Aussies take Gold with a Melbourne Goal!
The Australian Senior Men's Team has taken out the Gold Medals in the final match of the Divison II Group B championship in Newcastle, beating China 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Melbourne's own #2 Lliam Webster. The AIHL has published the 2008 AIHL fixture. Melbourne Ice's opening game will be at home against the Canberra Knights at 4.15 pm on Sunday 20 April 2008.

Members of the 2007 Melbourne Ice Development Squad have been named as part of the 2008 U20 Centenary Australian Team, to play in the IIHF 2008 World U20 Division III Championships in Belgrade, Serbia from 16 - 24 January 2008.

Melbourne Ice has been put out of the 2007 AIHL Finals series by the Newcastle North Stars, 6-3. The North Stars went on to lose to the 2007 Goodall Cup winners, the Sydney Bears.

Melbourne Ice goalie Stu Denman has finished 2007 as the AIHL's top goalie, finishing with an average of 2.87.
Melbourne vs Newcastle Semi Final
The 2007 AIHL season has concluded with Melbourne Ice bumped out of the Minor Premier's position by the Adelaide Avalanche, and facing off against the Newcastle North Stars in the second Semi Final in Penrith on 1 September.

Finals Ticketing Announced
The AIHL has announced ticketing details for the 2007 Finals Series, to be held at the Penrith Ice Palace on 1 and 2 September. Tickets will be on sale through the AIHL website from Monday 20 August 2007.

In a disciplined and sustained campaign, Melbourne Ice defeated 2005 premiers, the Newcastle Northstars, in their first meeting of the season. Newcastle were first on the board in the first period, but a tight Melbourne defence prevented them from scoring again, while Mayer, Sturrock, Linn, Tuunanen and Powell all scored for Melbourne.
